Personal Injury Case Background
Pilar Network member, Carmody Moran Solicitors, represented Santa Gicevica, a fifteen year old girl, who had been attacked by a husky dog, near her Tyrrelstown home. Suing Andrej Nesterovic, through her mother Mara Givevica, Ms Gicevica, took a case following personal injury. The judge heard that the dog, which was on a lead and under the control of its owner, attacked Ms Gicevica, biting her arm and scratching her face. Santa Gicevica required a tetanus injection, following a hospital visit and for the wound to be dressed for several weeks. While Ms Gicevica's facial injury healed well, barrister Naoise MacEoin told the court that the marks were still highlighted in cold weather.
Teenager Awarded €18,700
Ms MacEoin and Carmody Moran Solicitors, personal injury experts and members of the Pilar Personal Injury* Solicitors' Network, negotiated a substantial settlement of just under €19,000, which the judge approved. Costs were awarded in favour of Ms Gicevica's legal team.
